How Can I Take Care Of My Teeth Between Dental Checkups?

Between dental checkups, it’s important to brush your teeth at least twice a day, floss daily, eat a balanced diet, avoid sugary and acidic foods and drinks, and use fluoride toothpaste to help maintain good oral health.

What happens if I do not get a regular checkup?

Skipping regular checkups can lead to undetected dental issues such as cavities, gum disease, or oral cancer, which can progress and become more difficult and costly to treat if left untreated.

ow often are general dentistry checkups needed?

General dentistry checkups are typically recommended every six months, but your dentist may suggest more frequent visits based on your oral health needs and history.

What's the best way to whiten my teeth?

The best way to whiten your teeth depends on your specific dental situation. Consult with your dentist to discuss professional whitening treatments or over-the-counter options that are safe and effective for your teeth.

How do fillings work?

Fillings work by removing the decayed portion of a tooth, cleaning the affected area, and then filling the cleaned-out cavity with a filling material to restore the tooth’s structure and function.

What are early signs of dental trouble?

Early signs of dental trouble include tooth pain or sensitivity, swollen or bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, and changes in the appearance of your teeth or gums. It’s important to see a dentist if you experience any of these symptoms.

Do I really need to floss?

Yes, flossing is an important part of oral hygiene as it helps remove plaque and food particles from between your teeth and along the gumline, preventing cavities and gum disease.
